Our children in Key Stage 2 all take part in swimming lessons at Wolsingham Swimming Pool. Swimming lessons are a requirement of the National Curriculum with a target of every child leaving Primary School being able to swim a minimum of 25 meters.

At Stanhope Barrington C of E Primary School we believe that the ability to swim and have an understanding of water safety is an essential life skill. With the River Wear running through our town; the open air swimming pool and various reservoirs in the area, it is essential that our children are equipped with the skills to make the most of our amazing location safely.
