2021 – 2022

Introducing our 2021-2022 CREW…

We are delighted to introduce you to the members of The CREW. David, Rosie, Xavier, Malachi, Marianne, Leo, Polly and Arran have really thrown themselves into the role already. They assist during collective worship and have already secured funding for RE resources. Amazing work gang!

The CREW secure funding – We are delighted to announce that the CREW have secured £346 in funding from St. Thomas’ Parochial Church Council.

The pupil voice group for RE and Collective Worship wrote a letter to St. Thomas’ PCC requesting funding for Bibles and an Understanding Christianity Frieze.

The team came up with the idea that each Learning Zone should have a copy of the same Children’s Bible which is used in our Collective Worship sessions. The Understanding Christianity frieze will be on permanent display in the hall and is a collection of panels of art work relating to the various units of work we cover in our RE curriculum.

It will look like this:

We are very proud of The CREW and very grateful to St. Thomas’ for agreeing to fund this RE resource.

Delivering Collective Worship

On Monday 17th January 2022 members of The CREW helped to deliver Collective Worship with Mrs Cross (Head Teacher). The value we were learning about was Respect and we discussed how we can show respect for ourselves and others.

Malachi, David and Rosie then read out a range of different scenarios and then asked the children to identify who was being respectful, who was being disrespectful and why.

We had a fantastic discussion about how we can show respect in school and how we all need to be mindful of how our words and actions can affect how others feel.
